  • ieHIP® Digital Signage in Cebu wows shoppers in a posh mall
  • Cebu City, Philippines – A5COM Inc. recently installed four stations in Ayala Center Cebu which was the first in the city to install a networked digital signage in a shopping center. Ayala Center Cebu is Cebu’s leading high-end shopping center in the southern part of the Philippines which is home to world-renowned signature brands from both the Philippines and abroad.

The ieHIP® Digital Signage solutions installed around the mall consist of 46-inch LCD monitors, mini-PCs and high-bandwidth Internet which are located strategically on high foot traffic areas of the shopping center.

All the digital signage displays in the network are controlled and managed by a server located from any location using A5TEK’s ieHIP® Digital Signage Server or popularly known as “centralized digital signage management.” Thus, regardless of the location of a digital signage or the volume of digital signages in the network and for as long as they are internet connected, all of these digital signages can be controlled to display simultaneous or different advertisements in real-time.

  • ieHIP makes it to "Best of CES 2003"
  • For its "impressive array of features," the Home Infotainment Connect (ieHIP) is chosen by CE Pro magazine as one of the best products in the 2003 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held in Las Vegas, Nevada, 9-12 January 2003.

"A5tek Corp.'s new set-top box looks unassumingly like a DVD player," reports the March 2003 issue of CE Pro, "but the company packed an impressive array of features in its set-top box."

"It is loaded with A5tek's ieHIP platform for the ultimate in Internet/Entertainment functionality," writes CE Pro. "It's a Windows XP computer, a Web browser, a DVD player, a PVR, a surround-sound receiver and a music management system all in one."

"Oh, yes," the magazine adds, "it's also a video phone, fax machine and answering machine … and a karaoke machine."

CES is considered the world's largest annual tradeshow for consumer technology and America's largest annual tradeshow of any kind. The ieHIP is cited from among thousands of new products displayed at the show, and one of only two products chosen in the TechHome category.

"The 2003 International CES truly lived up to the label of world's largest consumer technology tradeshow with 116,687 upbeat attendees experiencing the excitement, products and technology provided by 2,283 exhibitors in 1.25 million net square feet of exhibit space," says Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the producer of the International CES.
  • Women's Edition Magazine
  • One of the best examples of an integrated center, according to Electronic House magazine, is the ieHIP from A5tek. The ieHIP looks like a DVD player, yet it can perform as a Windows XP computer, a Web browser, a digital video recorder, a surround-sound receiver and a DVD player. Also integrated is a karaoke machine, as well as a smart card reader to ensure safe Internet transactions. This just proves that there is a system for every taste and every entertainment need—all you need to do is imagine it.
